After
a doomed wedding, soul mates Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald and Sheridan Crane decided to go ahead with their honeymoon. The two had
the time of their lives on a romantic vacation in Bermuda. But Sheridan's family had plans other than romance for the duo.
Sheridan's father, Alistair, was determined to keep cop Luis away from the Crane family secrets. To accomplish this, he was
even willing to sacrifice his own daughter. Alistair ordered his son, Julian, to plant a bomb aboard Sheridan and Luis' boat!
Luis managed to survive the explosion, but he couldn't find Sheridan anywhere! While a hurricane raged at sea, Luis searched
and searched-but was unable to find his true love. Back at the Bermuda hotel, a dead body was recovered from the sea. Luis
was devastated when dental records proved that it was indeed Sheridan. Luis headed back to Harmony with a heavy heart but
unbeknownst to him, Sheridan was really alive and lost at sea! The unconscious Sheridan was rescued by a fisherman named Brian,
who fell in love at first sight with the beautiful woman. But that's not all--Brian was really Antonio Lopez-Fitzgerald, Luis'
long lost brother! Brian brought Sheridan to the island of St. Lisa, where he lived with his friends Liz and Doc. When Sheridan
finally woke up, she was unable to remember her identity or her past. She decided to go by the name "Diana."
Even though she had no memory of her identity, Diana was able to remember a great love from her past. Unfortunately, she
mistakenly believed that this man was dead! While Diana struggled to move on with her life and put this great love in her
past, Brian stood by her side--patiently hoping that one day Diana would return his strong feelings. Eventually, Diana did
indeed return those feelings. The two became lovers and became engaged.
Meanwhile, back in Harmony, a grieving Luis slowly began to move forward with his life. Luis' high-school sweetheart, Beth,
had never stopped loving Luis and had been a devoted friend throughout the years. She was thrilled when romance blossomed
between them once again. Luis even proposed to a delighted Beth, who gleefully accepted!
After suffering a terrible injury during a car race, Brian decided it was time to bring Diana back home to Harmony to meet
his family. The doctor pleaded with Brian not to leave the hospital, since Brian's condition was grave. But Brian defied his
doctor's orders and set off to Harmony with Diana, who had no idea about Brian's condition.
Once back in Harmony, Diana was flooded with memories and realized her former life had taken place in Harmony! She was
thrilled to finally be getting her life back. But Diana got more than she expected when she arrived at the cottage at the
Crane estate-the cottage that used to be her home. Upon entering the cottage, she came face-to-face with Luis, and all at
once she remembered everything! Overcome with the memories, Sheridan fainted...and when she woke up she forgot where she had
been during the past months. Luis and Sheridan shared a blissful, romantic reunion.
Unfortunately, Sheridan and Luis' happiness was short-lived. Soon, Sheridan remembered exactly what had happened when she
was apart from Luis. She pieced all the facts together and realized Brian was really Antonio Lopez-Fitzgerald, and that she
was engaged to two brothers! Sheridan admitted everything to a stunned and dismayed Luis, who asked Sheridan to make a choice
between him and Antonio. Sheridan quickly made her decision--Luis was her soul mate, and the man she wanted to spend her life
with. However, after Antonio collapsed and was brought to the hospital, Dr. Russell gave some devastating news to his loved
ones--Antonio was dying and any upsetting news could kill him! Sheridan decided she couldn't tell Antonio about her relationship
with Luis. As a result, she was forced to continue playing the part of Antonio's fiancÚe, much to Luis' dismay.
Meanwhile, Luis called off his engagement to Beth as soon as Sheridan came back in the picture. But Beth was determined
not to give up on Luis and vowed to do anything to get him back, even as her manipulative mother tried to stop her. Just as
Sheridan was about to tell Antonio the truth, Beth drugged Luis and made it look to Sheridan like Luis and Beth were making
love! While Luis and Sheridan eventually worked through this misunderstanding, Sheridan was still unable to tell Antonio the
truth and risk killing him! As a result, Sheridan continued to go forward with her plans to marry Antonio. Sheridan was horrified
when Antonio even suggested a double wedding with Luis and Beth. When Luis realized that Sheridan was going to be with Antonio,
he accepted Beth's proposal of marriage and agreed to the double wedding. On the eve of the double wedding, Sheridan realized
that she couldn't go through with marrying Antonio when her heart was with Luis. She showed up in Luis' bedroom and declared
her undying love for him. She even suggested that they elope that very evening! The duo decided that they would each show
up at the judge's office if they wanted to marry the other. Unfortunately, Beth overheard their plans and flew into a rage.
She was determined not to let Luis get away from her again! As a result, she drugged Luis' drink so he would not make it to
the judge's office. When Luis woke up, he frantically raced to the judge's office but a devastated Sheridan was already gone-since
she believed that Luis had never shown up. Believing they both had gotten their answers, Luis and Sheridan prepared to marry
others.
During the double wedding, Mrs. Wallace had a heart attack just as Beth and Luis were about to say their vows. Beth was
furious, since they were forced to rush off to the hospital and thus, never got to complete the wedding. As Sheridan stood
at the altar with Antonio, she prayed that Luis would stop the wedding. Luis did, indeed, dash off to the church to stop her
but he was too late. Antonio and Sheridan were already man and wife.
On the night of the double wedding, both Beth and Luis and Sheridan and Antonio checked into the Cliffside Inn. Luis and
Sheridan ran into each other in the hall and realized they had both gone to the judge's office so that they could elope. They
were determined to tell Antonio the truth and finally be together. But before they could, Antonio collapsed as a result of
not getting his medication. At the hospital, Eve announced that he was in a coma and only an experimental drug could possibly
save him. But the drug also could lead to Antonio entering a permanent vegetative state or it could kill him! Eve then played
Luis, Sheridan and the rest of the Lopez-Fitzgeralds a tape that Antonio made saying he didn't want to be a burden to Sheridan.
Despite Antonio's message, Pilar made it clear she believed Antonio should receive the drug--even if there was only a slight
possibility it could save him. After much soul-searching, Sheridan agreed to have Eve administer the drug. Luis and Sheridan
said their goodbyes, knowing that Sheridan would now be tied to her husband's bedside, and would not be able to be with Luis.
However, Luis and Sheridan's goodbye turned out to be short-lived. In a miraculous twist of fate, Antonio woke up from
his coma. Luis and Sheridan were thrilled-they could finally tell Antonio the truth about their relationship! But Beth had
other plans. She became so overcome with rage that she set fire to Sheridan's cottage, with Luis and Sheridan inside, in an
attempt to kill them both! Luckily, the two escaped in time. Once again, the couple determined to tell Antonio the truth.
But before they could, Sheridan learned she was pregnant! Sheridan was thrilled that she and Luis were going to become parents.
But Luis voiced his concerns to Sheridan when he asked her if she was sure he was the father. Sheridan admitted there was
a chance Antonio could be the dad, but believed in her heart that Luis was the father. Of course, an oblivious Antonio was
overjoyed that he and Sheridan were to become parents. Feeling the guilt and pressure mounting, Sheridan told Luis that she
was unable to break Antonio's heart by telling him the truth.
